Manifesto Festival

We are excited to announce that for the first time, the Roarockit Skateboard Company will take part in the Manifesto Festival's – Live at the Square event on Saturday, Sept. 20^th.

If you are not familiar with Manifesto, they are a non-profit organization that inspires and unites young people through arts & culture. They have been doing great work in our community for over 8 years, and we are proud to join forces with them for this annual event!

Live at the Square takes place in downtown Toronto at Yonge & Dundas Square and is an all-day, free outdoor event that features some of the cities best performers, artists and brands. This year will feature musical performances by Ryan Leslie, Raury, Bishop Nehru, Saukrates and many, many more! There will also be live Dance Battles, Showcases, Graffiti and Cyphers, lots of great food in the Freshest Foods market and some amazing local brands in the Freshest Goods marketplace. We will be there in a tent alongside our flagship program the Oasis Skateboard Factory, and festival veteran Champstiles Woodburning. Together we will be showcasing our innovative skateboard building process and how it can be used to engage youth through hands-on learning and art focused education.

Roarockit now offers two different types of high quality grip tape for board builders:

9" Wide Street Deck - Offers a fine grit grip for skateboards and mild cruising. Sold in 34" lengths to match the dimensions of our Street Deck sized Maple veneers.

11" Wide Longboard Coarse - This coarse grip tape will really lock your feet in place while riding downhill and busting out slides. It comes in 48" lengths to match the dimensions of our Longboard sized Maple, Birch and Bamboo veneers. 

We are currently offering the grip tape as an add-on to our veneer pack products, and also selling it in packs of 5 on its own.

Summer Sampler 3.0

The Summer Sampler is back! This time we are using the sampler to help introduce builders to the three different varieties of 1/16” skateboard building veneers offered at Roarockit.

The SUPER Pump!

Have you ever made this face while evacuating the air from your Thin Air Press vacuum bag?

Have you ever wondered if there is a way to draw more air per pump, thus reducing the amount of feverish pumping that is required to get your TAP bag fully sealed?

If so, today is your lucky day! In our efforts to continually improve our board building process, Roarockit now offers a hand pump that draws more than double the amount of air per pump than our standard pump. We call this...the SUPER Pump!!

With more than twice the volume, this larger "Super" pump can evacuate the air out of a TAP bag in half the time as our regular pumps can! The volume of this pump is 98 cc vs 40 cc's of our original pumps.

It works exactly the same way, simply place the pump over the grey valve and start evacuating the air. If you've used our original pump before, you will notice it takes a lot more arm power to make it work. For those with small hands, especially young people, this pump may harder to manage. 

All our larger Thin Air Press Kits (20x70”, 36x52” and 40x80") now ship to include the Super Pump.

Note: This pump does not make the "click" sound to indicate when all of the air has been evacuated from the bag. We suggest pumping until the veneers have fully bent to the shape of your mold, and the bag is too tight to be able to pull away from your project.  

Go Skateboarding Day

This past weekend (June 21st, 2014 to be exact), we hosted an Open House/Community Jam at the Roarockit HQ in Toronto as part of Go Skateboarding Day. 

With a lot of hardwork and volunteers, we were able to put together a pretty sweet little DIY skate park in the back lot of our unit, including a 18' x 8' mini ramp! 

There was also some live graffiti art by a couple of former students of the Oasis Skateboard Factory, our good friend Mike Boz helped run the bbq, Matt from Frenique Customs and the Bombora crew helped put together some of the skate features... and of course, lots of skating!
